RUSSELL, Pa. — The Cable Hollow Golf Course Friday Senior Men’s League season championship and year-end scramble were held Friday.

The season champions are Townline Auto: Fred Carder, Doug Wheeler, Roger Golden and Bruce Macey, after they defeated Mike’s Townline: Ed Zieralski, Dave Garey, Wayne Matve and Al Schumann, 27-13.

The scramble champions were Maple Place Farms at 10-under: Al Ludwick, Bob Yucha, Jim Fiscus and Chuck Roberts.

Signups for the 2025 season will be held April 18 and April 25 in the clubhouse. First week of play will be May 2 and the season will end on Sept. 19. New members aged 55 and older are welcome.

Kevin Overton shot the low net with a 29. Joel Marsh was closest to the pin at No. 6. Steve Wintersteen birdied No. 1 and Marsh birdied No. 6.

On Sept. 9, Tim Bulger and Wintersteen led the way with 36s. Jack Meyers had a net 31 and Jeff Benson was closest to the pin at No. 15. Bulger birdied No. 11 and Wintersteen eagled No. 13.

FREDONIA – Matt Hutchinson and Mike Kurmis were declared champions of the 2024 Utility League season following the final night of play last Tuesday at the Vineyards Golf Course.

The duo completed the 15-week season with 200.50 points to finish 6 points ahead of runners-up George Allessi and Chris Kowalewski, and 7 points clear of third-place finishers Chris Penfold and Jim Waite.

Jim Ellman and Bob Patterson finished fourth, and Rich Hofer and Jerry Reilly were fifth.

During individual play Tuesday, Joe Polichetti birdied the difficult par-4 first hole en route to 1-over 37. He also carded a tap-in birdie on the par-5 sixth hole after narrowly missing an eagle putt. His 30 net was also the lowest score in that category.

Kurmis shot 38 scratch and 32 net to finish second in both categories.

Polechetti’s birdie on No. 1 and birdies by Frank Jagoda on the par-3 fifth and by Michael Brown the par-3 ninth resulted in skins. Closest-to-the-pin prizes went to Jason Jagoda on No. 5 and to Penfold on No. 9.

CHAUTAUQUA — The Mayville Legion team of Ken Clute, Jim Mayer, Kyle Mayer and Gabe Morrell won this year’s Bill Sprague Memorial Golf League title at Chautauqua Golf Club.

Larry’s Cantina finished just a few points behind for second place.

Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Jerry Jusko on No. 5 and Tim Woznak on No. 9. Skins were earned by Greg Haight on No. 3 and Woznak on No. 4.

Kessler shot 31 to lead the Thursday Tom Tucker League on Sept. 5.

Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Jack Kujawa on No. 5 and Kessler on No. 9. Skins were earned by Kessler with an eagle at No. 6 and Haight at No. 8.
