The Lakewood Gladiators easily dispatched Timber Rattlers out of Oakland, Maryland, 10-1 in their first game of pool play recently at the Great Lakes Classic at Sports Force Park in Sandusky, Ohio.
A walk by Gavin Darr put the Gladiators on the board in the top of the first.
Lakewood added to its early lead in the top of the second inning after Gavin Weaver singled, Mason Degnan walked and Wilson Genareo hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
The Gladiators extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI walks by Julian Jackson and Cole Fitzgerald.
Broc Bryan earned the win for Lakewood, surrendering one hit and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking two. Karson Milne stepped on the bump first for Lakewood. The lefty allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Drake Beckstrom pitched one inning of shutout ball for the Gladiators in relief. The righty allowed one hit, striking out one and walking none.

The Lakewood Gladiators were victorious against Lakeside Baseball Club out of Detroit 4-1 in their second game of pool play.
Lakewood got on the board in the bottom of the third inning on a wild pitch, and Gavin Darr later grounded out, scoring a run.
Ryan Engquist earned the win for the Gladiators. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over 3 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking none. Wilson Genareo began the game for Lakewood. He surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Drake Beckstrom collected the save.

Even though the Lakewood Gladiators collected seven hits against the Gem City Throwbacks, they still fell 9-2 in the third game of pool play.

Lakewood opened the scoring in the second after Mason Degnan singled, scoring one run.
Gem City flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 7-1 lead.
Ryan Engquist took the loss for Lakewood. The starting pitcher went 4 1/3 innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking two.
Degnan went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
