The awards/honors keep coming for Dave Turnbull.

The Jamestown Community College women’s basketball coach learned earlier this week that he has been named the JUCO women’s Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.

The announcement comes on the heels of Turnbull’s trip to the NCAA College Basketball Academy last month in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he served as a coach of some of the top high school girls players in the country.

Last season, Turnbull led the Jayhawks to the Region 3 championship game and a 13-13 record, which included winning seven of their last 10 games.

The 2023-24 Jayhawks featured four sophomores, two of whom signed to play at four-year schools. Jamestown CC had six players earn regional All-Academic honors, and five players received NJCAA All-Academic recognition.

Turnbull is entering his fourth season as the bench boss for the Jayhawks, who will tip off their season in November.

Starting at $2.99/week.
