Jerry Bancroft and Mark Silvis tied for low gross with 36s, while Dick Merenick had a 38.

Mark Williams shot the low net with a 28, Jim Fitch had a 29 and Ike Borland had a 30.

FREDONIA — Mike Willoughby’s 40 scratch and 32 net represented the low Utility League scores Tuesday (Aug. 6) over the rain-soaked front nine at The Vineyards Golf Course.

Willoughby carded six pars while Mike Kurmis and George Allessi carded five apiece en route to 5-under 41s, a score shared with Chris Penfold. Meanwhile, Fred Dziduch shot 33 net to finish second in the category.

An eagle by Joe Polichetti on the par-5 second hole and a birdie by Frank Jagoda on the par-3 fifth claimed skins. Other money shots were made by Willoughby, closest to the pin on No. 5, and by Penfold, closest on No. 9.

With four weeks remaining, the team of Kurmis and Matt Hutchinson lead Allessi and Chris Kowalewski by 8 points, and Penfold and Jim Waite by 8.5 points.
