Portville Takes Advantage Of Falconer Walks

ALLEGANY — Falconer’s pitchers walked 15 and the 14th-seeded Golden Falcons made three errors, which led to five unearned runs as No. 3 Portville won their Section VI Class B prequarterfinal 12-0 Friday night.

Panthers leadoff hitter Cole Keesler walked three times and scored three runs; Brady German singled, walked twice and scored three runs; Ethan Obergfell walked three times and scored twice; and Aidan DeFazio tripled, drove in a run and scored a run for Portville, which will host a quarterfinal Monday. No. 11 Silver Creek/Forestville and No. 6 East Aurora will play this afternoon at Hamburg for the right to take on the Panthers.

Hayden Emley threw a five-inning two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk for Portville.

Erik Stenstrom and Gavin Curtis each had a single for the Golden Falcons.
