MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The spring break road trip couldn’t have gone much better for the Frewsburg baseball team.

The Bears completed their four games in the South Atlantic Bank Invitational unbeaten, culminating with Saturday morning’s 12-1 five-inning victory over Tyler, West Virginia at Myrtle Beach High School.

Garrett Brink and Chase Haglund combined on a five-hitter with five strikeouts and, offensively, Frewsburg collected 10 hits, including two apiece from Haglund, Brink (double) and Harrison Eckert (double).

Brink, Sheesley, Eckert and Aidan Gruber (double) all drove in two runs.

The Bears put the game away with eight runs in the third inning, highlighted by two-run doubles by Gruber and Maddox Sheesley.

All told, Frewsburg outscored its opponents 48-11 in the four games.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better trip,” Bears assistant coach Mike Sheesley said.

The South Atlantic Bank Invitational included a field of 91 teams.

Frewsburg is back in action at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when it takes on Brocton at Diethrick Park.
