It’s hard to determine whether Carson Swanson or Carter Brink is more important to their respective teams.

Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West coaches decided they are equally as important.

Swanson and Brink, both juniors, were recently named co-Players of the Year for the league.

Swanson averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 5.5 steals per game for the Wolverines, who finished 20-3 overall and won the CCAA Division 2 West title with an 11-1 record. The only game Westfield lost in the league was to Chautauqua Lake and Swanson missed that game with an illness.

Brink, on the other hand, averaged 25.7 points, 4.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game for the Panthers, who also finished 20-3 overall and 10-2 in the league. Their only two losses were to Swanson’s Wolverines.
