PANAMA — Facing injuries and foul trouble, Clymer looked to its star senior Alexys Neckers for a big performance on Thursday night in Panama.

Not only did the Pirates get a big performance, Neckers also reached a single-game record and managed the game-winner. Trailing most of the second half, with eight seconds remaining, Neckers hit a put-back shot to put Clymer up 51-50 and then a final defensive stand closed out the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls basketball win.

Neckers tied Tara Bailey with the Clymer (14-2, 9-0) single-game scoring record at 40 points — also set against Panama — and she added six rebounds, six steals, two assists and a block. Elli Bodamer collected six rebounds and three steals before going out with an injury; Ava Nyweide scored 7 points before fouling out; and Ericka Heslink had two assists and two steals.

Panama (2-13, 2-6) received a 17-point performance from Kiera Loberg, while Kaitlyn Horton scored 12 and Kylie Morgan had 11.
