Jamestown Senior Finishes 4th At Girls Qualifier

CHEEKTOWAGA — Abbie Derby is returning to Syracuse.

The Jamestown senior qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association girls bowling championships for the second straight year by finishing fourth at the Section VI state qualifier Thursday at Airport Lanes.

Derby turned in games of 189, 191 and 230 in the morning session before games of 244, 212 and 170 in the afternoon to finish with a 1,236.

North Tonawanda won the Division 1 and Class B team titles with a 895-976-913-888-926-865-5,463, while Depew won Division 2 and Class C with an 818-910-841-864-847-958-5,238.

Those two teams will be joined by the top six individuals not on those teams at the state championships Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10 at AMF Strike N Spare Lanes in Syracuse.

Hinsdale’s Madison Rondeau won the overall individual title with a 247-205-254-216-224-211-1,357.

Jamestown finished fifth in Class A and seventh in Division 1 with an 879-812-772-800-810-724-4,797.

Frontier won the Class A crown with an 867-934-916-842-864-955-5,378.

Fredonia was fifth in Class C and eighth in Division 2 with a 758-740-758-719-773-738-4,486. Dunkirk was sixth in Class C and ninth in Division 2 with a 779-742-749-760-682-771-4,483.

Randolph was second in Class D and sixth in Division 2 with an 826-699-779-730-773-795-4,602. Frewsburg was third in Class D and seventh in Division 2 with a 693-734-717-792-798-814-4,548. Forestville was fourth in Class D and 11th in Division 2 with a 677-723-802-739-721-730-4,392. Falconer was fifth in Class D and 13th in Division 2 with a 790-669-723-683-659-723-4,247. Gowanda was sixth in Class D and 15th in Division 2 with a 695-765-651-634-658-620-4,023. Salamanca was seventh in Class D and 17th in Division 2 with a 651-679-705-574-586-657-3,852. Ellicottville was ninth in Class D and 19th in Division 2 with a 571-647-600-649-651-642-3,760. Hinsdale won the Class D title with a 769-792-875-744-885-830-4,895.

Dunkirk’s Hayden Cerrie was 19th overall with a 237-156-161-176-195-167-1,092, Randolph’s Alyssa Milks was 30th with a 209-144-212-158-145-189-1,057, Fredonia’s Londyn Wilmot was 40th with a 168-156-181-158-196-171-1,030, Falconer’s Marabella Parsons was 42nd with a 188-168-147-150-189-183-1,025 and Fredonia’s Jaelyn Davis rounded out the local bowlers in the top 50 with a 49th-place showing of 149-190-174-145-190-162-1,010.
