Cardinals Take Down Gowanda/Pine Valley; Eagles Beat O/A-L

RANDOLPH — Seven pins helped Randolph take down Gowanda/Pine Valley 46-28 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 wrestling action Wednesday.

Jamie Nottingham (101 pounds), Kamren Anderson (108 pounds), Parker Paterson (116 pounds), Calan Gumhalter (124 pounds), Caden Inkley (160 pounds), Maverick Adams (190 pounds) and Nathaniel Hahn (215 pounds) had takedowns for the Cardinals, while Domanik Clark (138 pounds) won via major decision.

Jayden Fish (145 pounds), Kaleb Smith (152 pounds) and Jayden John (285 pounds) had pins for the Panthers, while Greg Reid (131 pounds) won via major decision.

DUNKIRK EDGES FREDONIA

DUNKIRK — Jonathan Ortiz pinned Gage Cope in 2:54 at 285 pounds to give Dunkirk enough points to withstand several forfeits late in a 37-36 Division 1 victory over Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek.

Timothy Warrior (131 pounds), Michael Hanlon (170 pounds) and Conner Jakubowicz (215 pounds) also had takedowns for the Marauders.

Aries Cheverez won by decision at 138 pounds and Christian Hernandez earned a major decision at 190 pounds.

For the Hillbillies, Isaiah Ruiz earned a pin at 124 pounds and they also earned five wins via forfeit.

JAMESTOWN HAS PIN PARTY

WEST SENECA — Connor Bush, Aidan Senear, Jason Dembik and Cole Bloomquist put together a string of four straight pins to send Jamestown past West Seneca West/East 51-24 in Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 action.

Bush pinned Ty Talty-Reese at 131 pounds, Senear took down Yunis Ali at 138 pounds, Dembik pinned Jack Bagley at 145 pounds and Bloomquist took down Bryce Moonan at 152 pounds to give the Red Raiders a 36-12 lead.

Luis Diaz followed with a 15-12 victory at 160 pounds before Keith Miller (170 pounds) and Julian Tonkin (190 pounds) completed the pin party for Jamestown.

Jayden Malecki (190 pounds) won via technical fall, while Alex Bourgeois (108 pounds), Gavin Burchanowski (116 pounds) and Blaine Rumaihi (170 pounds) picked up wins via decision.

The Eagles also benefited from four forfeits.
