Southwestern Rolls Past Fredonia To Kick Off Campaign

Five pins helped Southwestern coast past Fredonia 58-12 in season-opening Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association wrestling Wednesday evening.

Carmine Calimier (131 pounds), Dante Spitale (160 pounds), Peter Conley (170 pounds), Neves Hoose (190 pounds) and Brayden Potter (285 pounds) had takedowns for the Trojans.

Adrian Torres (101 pounds), Miles Torres (116 pounds) and Kenji Walters (124 pounds) also wrestled to victories for the hosts.

Mayson Simmons (108 pounds) and Cameron Ingram (138 pounds) had wins for the Hillbillies.

PORTVILLE — Falconer/Cassadaga Valley finished with six pins, including four in a row during the middle of the match, en route to a 58-15 Division 1 win over Portville.

Evan Newman (108 pounds), Dylan Newman (116 pounds), Gabe Lundmark (124 pounds), Hunter Paulisick (131 pounds), Patrick Braley (152 pounds) and Mason Kilmer (160 pounds) had takedowns for the Golden Cougars.

Charlie Reichenbach also earned a victory via major decision for the guests.

Hayden Emley (215 pounds) and Henry Chamberlain (285 pounds) opened the match with pins for the Panthers.
