Herington Pours In 35 For Randolph

RANDOLPH — Just a freshman, Skylar Herington had a career night Wednesday.

Herington scored a career-best 35 points to go along with five assists and five steals as Randolph beat Panama 86-23 in nonleague girls basketball action.

A 2023 New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C finalist, Randolph (1-1) led 32-4 after the first quarter and 55-10 at halftime.

Quinn Pence turned in a triple-double for the Cardinals with 18 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds, while Payton Morrison had 13 points and nine steals. Gianna Bowles had 11 points and four steals, and Ryanne Bushey chipped in four rebounds and two blocked shots.

Kaitlyn Horton led the Panthers (0-1) with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Kylie Morgan had 6 points and six rebounds.

BLACK KNIGHTS PULL AWAY

BROCTON — Lucille Jimerson had a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Silver Creek to a 66-14 win over Brocton.

The Black Knights led 23-10 after the first quarter before outscoring the Bulldogs 43-4 over the final three quarters.

Eighth-grader Gracelin Stevens had 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals; freshman Maddy Blair had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals; and freshman Khloe Karnes had 8 points and 11 steals for Silver Creek.

SHERMAN SPREADS IT AROUND

FORESTVILLE — All 10 players scored for Sherman in a 59-15 nonleague defeat of Forestville.

Teagan Gratto led the Wildcats (1-0) with 12 points and eight steals; Tayden Persons had 7 points and five rebounds; Brandy Safford had 7 points; and Emmersen Crawford had 6 points and four assists.

Carilene Sliwa led the Hornets (0-1) with 8 points and five steals.
