Randolph Makes Quick Work Of Holland In C2 Quarterfinals

RANDOLPH — Eve Adams had 12 kills and seven aces, while Allie Conley added four kills and six aces as No. 2 Randolph beat No. 7 Holland 25-4, 25-11, 25-10 in a Section VI Class C2 girls volleyball quarterfinal Thursday evening.

Donnilynn Sheldon added 11 kills; Aliza Hind had 27 assists; and Kameron Luce and Avery Morrison each had six aces for the Cardinals, who will host No. 6 Silver Creek in a 6 p.m. semifinal Monday.

Randolph swept the Black Knights 25-9, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-12, 25-11, 25-20 in two previous matchups this season.

GOWANDA COASTS IN C2

GOWANDA — Corinna John had eight kills and five blocks, while Elizabeth Green added eight kills and a dig as No. 4 Gowanda beat No. 5 Tapestry 25-8, 25-10, 25-11 in a Class C2 quarterfinal.

Holland Browning added three aces, five kills and 12 digs; Addison Kota had four aces, four kills and four digs; Aubrie Heron had three aces, four kills, two blocks and two digs; and Jillian Gernatt had two aces, 27 assists, a kill and a dig for the Panthers.

FREDONIA MOVES ON IN B2

BUFFALO — Lydia LaBarr served up eight aces to go along with a pair of digs as No. 5 Fredonia beat No. 4 Health Sciences 25-1, 25-17, 25-5 in Class B2 quarterfinal action at the Delevan Grider Community Center.

Kaylen Rollins had five kills and four aces, while Elizabeth Morris had five kills and two digs for the Hillbillies, who will travel to No. 1 Akron for a semifinal matchup Monday at 6 p.m.

COTTER, NEWHOUSE PACE TROJANS

WEST ELLICOTT — Lauren Cotter had eight kills and eight aces, while Jaidyn Newhouse added five kills and seven aces as No. 2 Southwestern swept No. 7 Medina 25-8, 25-11, 25-10 in a Class B2 quarterfinal.

Bella Sirianni had 15 assists and McKenna Bogdanowicz chipped in four aces for the Trojans, who will host a 6 p.m. Monday semifinal.

MELQUIST DOES IT ALL

FALCONER — Hannah Melquist accumulated 20 assists, 10 kills, 10 digs and two aces as No. 2 Falconer beat No. 10 Salamanca 25-9, 25-18, 25-15 in Class C1 quarterfinal action.

Augustine Krenzer had eight kills, five assists and 10 digs; Ashley Smith had seven kills; Mylie Zaranek had four kills, four digs and four aces; Kaylee Green had four blocks; and Nylah Sharpe had 10 digs and three assists for the Golden Falcons, who will host No. 3 Royalton-Hartland in a 6 p.m. Monday semifinal.

For the Warriors, Madison Hoag and Marijah Skye led the team in digs with 11 apiece. Marlee Maybee, Lezly McComber and Karina Crouse each had six digs. Maybee had eight assists and Faith Papke had seven. McComber had four kills and three blocks, Karina Crouse had five kills, and Makenzie Crouse had three kills and a block.

BLACK KNIGHTS WIN MARATHON

WILSON — No. 6 Silver Creek was on the brink of elimination, but managed to beat No. 3 Wilson 15-5 in a fifth-and-deciding set to advance in the Class C2 quarterfinals.

The Black Knights won 17-25, 25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 15-5 and will travel to No. 2 Randolph for a 6 p.m. semifinal Monday.
