JCC Men’s Soccer Dominates With 13 Goals In Lorain

LORAIN, Ohio — The Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team put up its best showing in recent memory with a 13-0 win at Lorain on Wednesday.

The goals came in bunches, with nine being scored in the first half before a final outcome of 13-0. The tallies came from David Luque (Seville, Spain/IES Juan Cuidad Duarte), who had four, pushing his total to 13 on the season. Dom Malhomme (Chateauroux, France / Jean Giraudoux) added a pair, giving him four goals in his last two games. The others came from James Cassidy (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen HS), Alex Watt (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Campbell College), Mohamadu Bah (Durban, South Africa/Curro Heritage House HS), Callum Featherstone (Hull, England/Barnsley College), Shane Bennett (Clonmel, Ireland/CBS High School), Ilkan Huseyin (London, England/Aylward Academy), and Michael Gilbert (Roscrea, Ireland/Colaiste Phobal Ros Cre’) all added one.

Paledi Lamani (Pretoria, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS) brought home the clean sheet in net. The win moves JCC to 4-9-1. The men return to the pitch today at 1 p.m. when they visit Cayuga CC.

WOMEN

JAYHAWKS TIE LORAIN

LORAIN, Ohio — The Jamestown CC women’s soccer team jumped out to a first-half lead against Lorain CC when former NJCAA Region 3 Athlete of the Week Alexis Lundmark (Lakewood/Southwestern HS) found the back of the net in the 25th minute to make things 1-0 Jayhawks.

Lorain CC evened the score at 1-1 in the 55th minute before Sheala Barresi (Westfield /Westfield Central) once again put Jamestown out front on an assist from Lundmark.

The lead wouldn’t last long as Lorain CC once again had an answer before the last whistle. The 2-2 score was the final, with JCC coming home with a draw.

The equal outcome moves Jamestown to 3-6-2 on the season. The women have a gap in their schedule before finishing the season at home on Wednesday, Oct. 18 against Monroe CC.
