Maple Grove Boys Fall To Gators In Overtime
ALLEGANY — The nonleaue boys soccer contest between Allegany-Limestone and Maple Grove was so close that it would need some extra time for a team to come out on top. Seven minutes into the overtime period, Allegany-Limestone’s Luke Griffin connected with Zander Parsons who slotted the golden goal to put the Gators past the Red Dragons 3-2.
Allegany-Limestone (5-1, 2-1 CCAA West) received big performances from the duo with Parsons goal being his second contribution of the match, assisting Griffin on the previous goal. While Griffin not only scored in the 32nd minute, but also assisted the Gators first tally from Cooper Wilczewski.
Maple Grove (6-2, 4-0 CCAA Central) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal from Drew Oste, but then had to rally back in the second half for an equalizer from Keegan Rishel assisted by Jonah Foley.
