Green Serves Gowanda Past North Collins In Sweep
NORTH COLLINS — Elizabeth Green had 12 service points, including 11 aces, and three kills to lead Gowanda past North Collins 25-11, 25-12, 25-15 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls volleyball Tuesday.
Holland Browning had 11 points, including six aces, and three kills; Aubrie Heron had eight points, including three aces, six kills and two blocks; Jill Gernatt had seven points, including three aces, and 16 assists; and Ella Luther had four points and eight digs for the Panthers (1-1).
The Eagles fell to 0-1.
FALCONER SWEEPS DUNKIRK
FALCONER — Hannah Melquist’s 14 assists, seven kills and 13 aces helped Falconer sweep Dunkirk 25-7, 25-2, 25-7.
Emily Zaranek had nine kills and three blocks; Ashley Smith had four kills; Nylah Sharpe had four aces and two assists; and Brynn Zaranek had two kills and three aces for the Golden Falcons (3-0).
The Marauders fell to 0-1.
McCARTHY SHINES FOR GATORS
FREDONIA — Mia McCarthy had 37 digs and two aces to lead Allegany-Limestone to a 25-23, 25-22, 25-9 sweep of Fredonia.
Tullah Hasselberg had 15 assists and an ace while Serena Frederick had eight aces and seven blocks for the Gators (2-0, 1-0).
Lydia LaBarr had 14 digs and four kills; Maddie Saunders had five assists, four aces and two kills; and Elizabeth Morris had 13 digs and three kills for the Hillbillies (0-2, 0-1).
SOUTHWESTERN COASTS
JAMESTOWN — Lauren Cotter had nine kills and six aces as Southwestern swept Jamestown 25-6, 25-20, 25-11.
Jaidyn Newhouse had seven kills and an ace and Bella Sirianni had 18 assists for the Trojans (2-0).
Grayson Bloomquist had nine digs; Reagan Powers had six digs; and Betty Tubbs had a kill and two blocks for the Red Raiders (0-2).
BLACK KNIGHTS FALL
ELLICOTTVILLE — Natalee Leiper had seven kills to power Ellicottville to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Silver Creek.
Hayden Andera had five kills and two aces; Riley Whitmer had five kills; Cora Norton had four kills and two aces; Izzy Coburn and Alivia Fisher each had four aces; and Ande Northrup had 19 assists and two aces for the Eagles (1-0).
The Black Knights fell to 0-1.
