Cross Country Returns To Point Gratiot
DUNKIRK — West Valley’s Olivia Harmony won the girls race in 20:41 and her teammate Jack Tharnish won the boys race in 18:10 as Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association cross country action was held at Point Gratiot Park for the first time in five years Tuesday.
Two points separated the boys teams as Dunkirk won with 52 points. West Valley was second with 53 points while Fredonia/Westfield and Silver Creek/Forestville tied for third with 54 points.
Fredonia/Westfield had the lone complete girls team.

ALLEGANY — Frewsburg’s Juvenal Diaz won the boys race in 16:40 and Allegany-Limestone’s Elexa Duggan won the girls race in 19:10 during a race that included Gowanda and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley at Allegany-Limestone High School.
Gowanda won the boys race with 27 points, followed by Frewsburg (27). Falconer/Cassadaga Valley and Allegany-Limestone were incomplete.
Allegany-Limestone won the girls race with 25 points, followed by Gowanda (45) and Frewsburg (50). Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was incomplete.

PANAMA — Ethan and Sean Verbosky finished first and second to lead Maple Grove to a boys victory with 29 points at Panama Central School.
Ethan Verbosky finished in 17:30. Southwestern’s boys were second with 41 points, followed by Clymer/Sherman/Panama (53). Randolph was incomplete.
Southwestern’s Emma Lewis won the girls race in 19:37, but Clymer/Sherman/Panama was the team winner with 27 points. Maple Grove was second with 40 points, followed by Southwestern (62). Randolph was incomplete.
