Tarp Skunks Tie Niagara
NIAGARA — Jamestown scored a run in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game to pull level with the Niagara Power 2-2 in what would be an eventual tie at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Grady Mee led off the top of the ninth with a double and advanced to third on a fielding error by Niagara that put Zack Kent on first base. Mee then reached home on a Brayden Johnson RBI to bring the score level at 2-2.
Niagara settled down in the field to get out of the inning without any more damage, but the save opportunity by Andrew Damiani was blown.
Mee’s double was the Tarp Skunks lone extra-base hit of the game and he also collected a RBI in the third inning in which he drove in Evan Fragela.
Pitching for Jamestown was Patrick DeMarco going 5 2/3 with one earned run and a strikeout and Evan Chaffee walked one and struck out five.
The Tarp Skunks host Niagara today at 6:30 p.m. at Diethrick Park.
