Dellow Throws Another Gem In Shutout Of Clymer/Sherman

WESTFIELD — Haleigh Dellow threw a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts as Westfield beat Clymer/Sherman 13-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West softball action Monday.

Dellow walked one batter and hit a batter while throwing 39 of 60 pitches for strikes.

Eva Gnadzinski hit a home run and drove in two runs; Drew Ernewein tripled, drove in two runs and scored three runs; Keara Kincaid doubled and drove in two runs; and Dellow, Mackenzie Schumaker, Sydney Hotchkiss and Brynn Ernewein all had two hits for the Wolverines (16-1, 11-0).

The Wolves fell to 9-5 overall and 7-5 in the league.

JOHNSON SHINES FOR T’BIRDS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Cayzlee Johnson earned the start inside the circle for Chautauqua Lake and did her best impersonation of teammate Olivia Herrington. Johnson was nearly flawless in her five innings of work just giving up one hit, walking one batter and striking out 11 to lead Chautauqua Lake past Cassadaga Valley 12-0 in Division 2 West action.

Chautauqua Lake (10-2, 10-1) also received plenty of offense from Johnson as she was 3 for 4 with a home run and 6 RBIs, Herrington also hit a home run and Kristina Dickey hit 2 for 3 with a double.

Cassadaga Valley (2-12, 2-10) received its lone hit off the bat of Emiley Anderson while Andrea Johnson pitched all five innings.

ELLICOTTVILLE

TOPS NORTH COLLINS

ELLICOTTVILLE — Ellicottville put on an offensive clinic as it downed North Collins 18-8 in Division 2 East action.

Ellicottville (9-5, 8-4) was led by Teaghan Finn going 3 for 3 with 6 RBIs, three runs scored and a double; Jaida Mendell hit 3 RBIs and scored, Keelin Finn was 3 for 4 with a RBI and three runs scored, and Allison Rowland went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs.

Keelin Finn started in the circle for Ellicottville, but relief innings from Ande Northrup slowed down North Collins. Northrup gave up just three hits and struck out six on top of her day at the plate where she was 2 for 4 with a RBI and three runs scored.

North Collins (8-10, 7-5) was led by Jaylee Jimerson hitting 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a double, Hailey Jasinski was 2 for 2 with a double, a run and 2 RBIs, and Cate Ayers finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Sophie Vanstrom took the loss in the circle and Ayers finished the game.

TRIM HITS WINNING DOUBLE

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off 10-9 Division 2 West victory over Frewsburg.

Alex Halstrom reached on an error and Harper Dawes singled before stealing second. After a strikeout, Megan Lockwood hit a two-run double down the left-field line. After a lineout, Alex Caldwell hit an RBI single to tie the game and Dani Trim followed with the game-winning RBI double scoring Caldwell from first.

Erin Mansfield went 3 for 5 with three runs scored; Caldwell was 3 for 5; and Dawes and Lockwood (two doubles) added two hits apiece for the Red Dragons (6-8, 5-7). Trim was 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Taytum Jimerson was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs scored; Gracie Hyldahl was 2 for 4 with two runs scored; and Kaylee Cappa, Braelyn Stelmack, Corinne McLaughlin, Mackenzie Martin and Addison Hultberg each added a hit for the Bears (3-11, 1-11).
