RANDOLPH — It was a good day to be a Bear and a Cardinal.
Led by a pair of individual wins by Landon Stormer and Cody Kent, Frewsburg claimed the boys Section VI Class D Track & Field Championship at Randolph Central School on Friday.
But the host Cardinals sure made plenty of noise as two athletes — Jaiden Huntington and Roan Kelly — captured two first places apiece.
For the record, Frewsburg accumulated 155 points, Randolph was second with 141.5, Holland was third with 78 and Maple Grove was fourth with 48 to highlight the 12-team field.
Stormer won the 100 meters in a blistering time of 10.91 seconds and the 200 meters in 22.68, while Kent captured the 3,200 meters (10:27.29) and the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:26.32).

For Randolph, Huntington had huge performances in the shot put (51-7.5) and the discus (155-10), and Kelly finished first in the 800 meters (2:11.61) and the 1,600 meters (4:45.10).
The other double winner among area boys was Jonah Foley of Maple Grove, who won the high jump (5-10) and the triple jump (41-9.5).
In the girls competition, Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Tyyetta Herman won three individual events — the 100 meters (12.59), the 200 meters (25.88) and the 400 meters (58.22) — to spark the Panthers to the team title with 125 points. Randolph was second with 104 and Clymer/Sherman/Panama was third with 74 to headline the 13-team field.
Other double winners among the area girls were Megan Jackson of Franklinville/Ellicottville in the shot put (34-4) and the discus (112-8); and Frewsburg’s Gracie Conlan in the long jump (16-5.25) and the triple jump (33-2.25).
