Dellow Reaches Century Mark In 20-2 Rout

WESTFIELD — Haleigh Dellow collected her 99th and 100th career hits to lead a 17-hit attack as Westfield beat Cassadaga Valley 20-2 in five innings of Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West softball action Thursday.
Dellow singled in the second and third innings, while also driving in two runs and scoring two runs. In 57 career games, the George Mason-bound senior has 52 singles, 24 doubles, 10 triples and 14 home runs.
The Wolverines (4-1, 1-0) led 4-0 after two innings before a 16-run third inning put the game away.
Tanleigh Bestine went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored; Madyson Burgess was 3 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored; Sydney Hotchkiss was 2 for 2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored; Mackenzie Schumaker had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored; and Drew Ernewein and Keara Kincaid both doubled.
Dellow threw two no-hit innings with five strikeouts; Eva Gnadzinski struck out three in two innings; and Schumaker struck out the side in the fifth for Westfield.
Hailey Myers had two hits and a run scored, while Denza Fanara tripled, drove in a run and scored a run for the Cougars (0-4, 0-3).
DRAGGETT, PALISIN POWER FREDONIA
FREDONIA — Callie Draggett went 2 for 3 with a home run and a triple while Danielle Palisin was 3 for 3 with two doubles as Fredonia beat Falconer 11-2 in Division 1 West play at Fredonia High School.
The Hillbillies (2-1, 2-0) went up 4-0 in the top of the first inning on three walks, a bunt single, a hit batter and Palisin’s two-run double with two outs.
In the second inning, Draggett added a solo home run.
With two outs in the third inning, Palisin doubled and Maddie Ambrose walked before Draggett hit a two-run triple and scored on an error.
Fredonia closed the scoring in the fourth when Gaby Matos singled, Ellie VanDette hit an RBI double, Sophia Gullo hit an RBI single and Palisin hit an RBI single.
Jordan Lucas threw a complete-game three-hitter with 12 strikeouts, a walk and a hit batter in the circle for the Hillbillies.
Kayla Lynn was 2 for 3 with a solo home run and Emily Zaranek had an RBI single for the Golden Falcons (1-3, 1-1).
BODAMER, WOLVES SHUT OUT BEARS
CLYMER — Elli Bodamer didn’t allow a single run against Frewsburg, throwing a complete-game shutout and leading the Clymer/Sherman Wolves to a 5-0 victory in Division 2 West play.
A single by Teghan Trocki in the second inning was one of two hits for Frewsburg.
Bodamer got the win for Clymer/Sherman (3-2, 2-2), allowing two hits while striking out nine and walking one.
Trocki was on the rubber for Frewsburg (2-2, 0-2). She threw all six innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits and striking out five.
Clymer/Sherman tallied 10 hits. Hayden Fisher, Janelle Burchanowski and Reagan Bates all collected multiple hits. Fisher went 3 for 4.
MAPLE GROVE DOWNS PANAMA
BEMUS POINT — Erin Mansfield went 3 for 4 and scored three times to lead Maple Grove past Panama 7-2 in Division 2 West action.
Also standing out on offense for the Red Dragons were Dani Trim, who went 2 for 3 with a run, and Alex Caldwell, Eliza Dawes and Harper Dawes with an RBI apiece.
Lydia Darr was efficient in the circle for Maple Grove going all seven innings with five strikeouts, three walks and one earned run off five hits.
Panama finally got on the board in the top of the sixth when Corinne Hovey and Kaitlyn Horton crossed the plate. Kylie Morgan and Emma Cooper both went 2 for 3 and Cassie Lyon added a hit.
In the circle, Emma Cooper started things for the Panthers going three innings and giving up three earned runs and five hits. Jessica Lyon finished the game and gave up two earned runs, three hits and struck out one batter.
RED RAIDERS FALL TO HUSKIES
JAMESTOWN — Jamestown suffered a 21-4 loss to Olean in six innings of Division 1 West action at the Martin Road Athletic Complex.
Aubrey Reynolds sparked the Jamestown (1-2, 1-2) offense with a triple and two RBIs, while Kaylee Keppel walked and scored a run. Keppel also took the circle for the Red Raiders all six innings with a strikeout and a walk.
Emma Edwards struck out seven from the circle for Olean (6-0, 4-0) and hit a home run. Olivia Kratz added two singles and scored five times for the Huskies.
EAGLES ROLL WARRIORS
NORTH COLLINS — Hailey Jasinski had quite the day at the plate to lead North Collins past Salamanca 19-6 in five innings of Division 2 East action.
Jasinski went 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double, a triple and a total of five RBIs for the Eagles (3-2, 2-0). Jaylee Jimerson added two RBIs going 2 for 2 and Lily Montaldi also went 2 for 2.
Sophie Vanstrom earned the win in the circle going just two innings, but Cate Ayers finished off the final three innings with three strikeouts and five walks.
Salamanca (0-5, 0-3) was led by Alyssa Perkins going 2 for 3 with a RBI and Makenzie Oakes, who went 1 for 3 and scored twice. Charli Ross was the losing pitcher for the Warriors.
TROJANS BREAK OUT EARLY
ALLEGANY — Southwestern scored four runs in the first inning and five more in the third to take a 9-0 lead en route to an 11-1 Division 1 West victory over Allegany-Limestone.
Madelyn Burnett had two singles and three RBIs, including a two-run single during the third inning. Madison Cresanti added two singles and two RBIs for the Trojans (2-2, 1-1), who finished with 10 hits.
Arianna Silakowski threw a complete-game eight-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Abby Peck and Michaella Rhodes both had two hits, including a double, for the Gators (1-6, 1-3).
WEST STANDS OUT FOR PANTHERS
SOUTH DAYTON — Danielle West had four hits, including three doubles, to lead Pine Valley to a 19-8 Division 1 East victory over Brocton.
The Panthers (3-3, 1-0) scored eight runs in the fourth inning to take a 12-6 lead.
Ashley Campbell finished with three hits, including a double, while Brook McCoy added three singles. Haleigha Hardy struck out six in the victory.
Madison Sears struck out nine for the Bulldogs (1-3, 0-2).
WEDNESDAY
HORNETS HOLD OFF SILVER CREEK
SILVER CREEK — Forestville held off Silver Creek’s seventh-inning rally to post an 8-7 Division 1 East victory Wednesday.
Lauryn Pierce (three RBIs) and Jade Work each had three hits for the Hornets, while teammate Kelly Grupa smacked a double and drove in three runs.
Laneya Olsen collected two hits; Kaylee Hutchison drilled a triple; and Rylee Weiskerger added a double for the Black Knights.
