Pine Valley’s West Named To D2 East First Team

Franklinville’s Megan Jackson was recently named the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East Player of the Year.

Jackson, a senior, averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists per game for the Panthers, who finished second in the league.

Tracy Rozler was named the Coach of the Year after leading league-champion Ellicottville to a perfect 10-0 record in league games.

North Collins was honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award and Cate Ayers was the Eagles’ Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.

Two Ellicottville players were named to the league’s First Team. Junior Dalayla Alexander averaged 12.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 2.7 assists per game, while senior Allison Rowland averaged 10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 2.7 assists per game.

Pine Valley sophomore Danielle West was also named to the First Team after averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 steals, 3.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.

North Collins senior Hailey Jasinski averaged 11.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.1 steals and 2.0 assists per game en route to being named to the First Team.

The final First-Team honoree was Franklinville senior Sofia Bentley, who averaged 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.0 assists per game.

The Second Team was made up of Forestville freshman Carilene Sliwa, Franklinville junior Olivia Frank, Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Onalee Osgood, North Collins senior Autumn Awald and Ellicottville senior Ryah Quinn.

Honorable-mention selections included: Pine Valley’s Haleigha Hardy, Danica Farnham and Alyssa West; Ellicottville’s Natalee Leiper; Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Kadie Benzel and Emma West; and Forestville’s Tristian Olsen and Morgan Becker.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Emma Gassman, Hardy, Franklinville’s Luciana Marchese, Becker and Ellicottville’s Keelin Finn joined Ayers as Sportsmanship Award honorees.
