Hind, Fry, Hinsdale Among 23 Honored On All-State Teams

Xander Hind, Ethan Fry and Bryce Hinsdale had three of the best statistical seasons in Western New York this fall.
On Wednesday, they were among 23 local football players honored as small school all-state selections by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Hind, Randolph’s senior running back, shared the Class D Player of the Year honor after rushing for a Section VI record 2,577 yards to go along with 34 touchdowns.
Fry, Fredonia’s senior quarterback, was named a Class C First-Team all-star after leading Section VI with 2,740 passing yards to go along with 27 touchdowns while also rushing for 617 yards and eight touchdowns.
Hinsdale, a sophomore wide receiver from Clymer/Sherman/Panama, was named to the Class D First Team after leading Section VI with 74 receptions for 761 yards and six touchdowns. He also made 26 point-after kicks and six field goals.

Bryce Hinsdale
Fry was joined on the Class C First Team by Salamanca linebacker Jesse Stahlman, who totaled 63 tackles, including nine for a loss, a sack, a fumble recovery and a pass defended.
Fredonia senior Micah Davis was named to the Class C Second Team after rushing for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns to go along with 97 tackles, including 11 for a loss, two sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
Southwestern junior Neves Hoose was named to the Class C Second Team after making 25-of-27 point-after kicks and six field goals, including a 45-yarder.
Fredonia junior Jameson Quinn was named to the Class C Third Team after catching 54 passes for 758 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Southwestern junior Jameson Walsh and Eden/North Collins senior Matt Sweet were Class C honorable-mention selections.

Ethan Fry
Hind and Hinsdale were joined on the Class D First Team by Gian Nuzzo, Jaiden Huntington, Ryan Carpenter and Koda Curtis.
Nuzzo, Franklinville/Ellicottville’s senior quarterback, ran for 925 yards and 13 touchdowns while throwing for 592 yards and eight touchdowns.
Huntington, Randolph’s senior tight end/linebacker, caught 16 passes for 307 yards and seven touchdowns while making 73 tackles with a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery.
Carpenter, a senior lineman, anchored Randolph’s offensive line as the Cardinals ran for 3,331 yards and 43 touchdowns.
Curtis, a senior lineman, anchored Franklinville/Ellicottville’s offensive line as the Titans ran for 1,839 yards and 31 touchdowns while throwing for 895 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Clymer/Sherman/Panama sophomore quarterback Tate Catanese was named to the Class D Second Team after throwing for 1,470 yards and nine touchdowns.
Franklinville/Ellicottville senior lineman Tyler Gibas was also named to the Second Team after collecting 34 tackles, inclduing six for a loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Randolph senior Payton Slade rounded out the Class D Second Team locally with 61 tackles and a sack.
Clymer/Sherman/Panama senior running back Trent Burchanowski, senior linebacker Lucas Lisciandro and senior lineman Taite Newman were joined by Randolph senior quarterback Carson Conley as Class D honorable-mention selections.
In Class B, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove seniors Dalton Caldwell and Brailyn Paladino were honorable-mention selections.
Other Section VI players honored in Class D included: Portville’s Zander Keim (First Team), Kaedon Holcomb (Second Team) and Caiden Zollinger (Second Team); and Wilson’s Drew Dabill (HM) and Conner Ernest (HM).
Junior quarterback/defensive back Caden Bellis of Class D state champion Tioga shared the Player of the Year award with Hind.
Other Section VI players honored in Class C included: Lackawanna’s Sunday Ikegwuonu (First Team), Antwan Threeths (Second Team), Ashlin Alexander-Hall (Second Team) and Billy Gechell (Third Team); Medina’s Noah Skinner (First Team), Chris Johnson (First Team), Aiden Pitts (HM) and Roosevelt Mitchell (HM); Burgard/Buffalo Arts’ Doug Washington (Third Team); Tonawanda’s Alexander Gallo (HM); and Akron’s Chris Bergman (HM) and Donny Kreher (HM).
Senior wide receiver/defensive back/kicker Marek Arbogast of Section IX James O’Neill was named the Class C Player of the Year.
Other Section VI players honored in Class B included: Maryvale’s Justus Hill (First Team) and Dezmin Walker (Fourth Team); Iroquois’ Trevor Barry (First Team), Nate McGoldrick (First Team), Braedan Donnelly (First Team), Shane Smith (Third Team) and Justus Kleitz (Fourth Team); Albion’s Javon Jones (Second Team), Amari Jones (Third Team) and Nick Radder (HM); Pioneer’s Luke Matheis (Second Team), Gavin Schwab (HM) and Sam Platt (HM); Timon-St. Jude’s James McNeil (Second Team), Gerald McCloud (Fourth Team) and Dominic Anzalone (HM); Cheektowaga’s Cam Warburton (Fourth Team); Lake Shore’s Aiden Kaczmarek (HM); Cardinal O’Hara’s Kalughn Ford (HM); and Olean’s Cade Anastasia (HM).
The Class B co-Players of the Year were junior running back/defensive back Daniel Picart of Section I Pleasantville and junior lineman Adam DeSantis of Section IV Maine-Endwell.
The all-state teams for Class AA and Class A will be announced next week.
