Running At Regionals

Roan Kelly of Randolph, seen in this file photo, will be running at the Nike Cross Country Regional Championships today at Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls. Kelly finished eighth at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Federation Championships earlier this month. In that race, the best runners from all four classes in the state, as well as Catholic schools and New York City schools, competed. Kelly was the first boy runner from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association to place in the top 10 in the meet since Trevor Cable of Frewsburg placed seventh in 2000. Prior to that, Kelly placed sixth in Class D at the NYSPHAA meet after winning the Section VI Class D championship. All five tho beat Kelly at the state meet were at the Federation meet and the Cardinals’ standout finished ahead of four of them.
