Chautauqua Lake Rallies Past Maple Grove

MAYVILLE — Maple Grove led 2-0 at halftime before Chautauqua Lake rallied for a 3-2 victory in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls soccer Thursday.

Maddie Hill and Bryanna Cornell tallied goals in the opening 40 minutes for the Red Dragons (1-8-1, 1-4-1).

After halftime, Jada Cole scored twice and Taylor Donato scored once for the Thunderbirds (7-2-1, 5-2-1).

Lucille Gates made nine saves in net for Chautauqua Lake.

BEERS NETS WINNER

FREDONIA — Rylee Beers scored four minutes into the second half to send Fredonia to a 1-0 shutout of Olean in Division 1 West action.

The Hillbillies improved to 9-4-0 overall and, more importantly, 7-3-0 in the league to move into first place.

Emma Edwards made four saves for the Huskies (7-5-0, 5-4-0).

BEARS BLANK NORTH COLLINS

NORTH COLLINS — Frewsburg led 2-0 at halftime en route to a 6-0 shutout of North Collins in Division 2 West play.

Ashlyn Samuelson scored from Kaydan Bush in the 14th minute and Ava Jimerson scored from Alexandra Hultberg in the 15th minute for the Bears (11-0, 6-0).

After the break, Jimerson scored from Samuelson in the 50th minute, Audrey Eckwahl scored from Bush in the 71st minute, Hultberg scored from Jimerson in the 75th minute and Bush scored from Gracie Conlan in the 76th minute.

Frewsburg, which has not allowed a goal in league play all season, held its opponent without a shot on goal for the fifth straight game.

Hailey Jasinski made 12 saves and Meadow Mitchell made two for the Eagles (5-5-2, 3-3-2).

WILSON SHINES FOR WOLVERINES

WESTFIELD — Carley Wilson had a goal and an assist as Westfield/Brocton blanked Silver Creek/Forestville 3-0 in Division 2 West play.

Makartnee Mortimer scored from Colie Bundy in the 20th minute as the Wolverines (6-5-0, 4-2-0) took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, Sophia Wolfe scored from Wilson in the 51st minute and Wilson scored from Cassidy Phillips in the 78th minute.

Emma Busuladzic made three saves for the clean sheet.

The Black Knights fell to 0-12-1 overall and 0-8-0 in the league.

YASUREK SCORES LONE GOAL

SOUTH DAYTON — Julianna Yasurek scored in the 59th minute to send Pine Valley/Gowanda past Franklinville 1-0 in the East Division.

Destiny Lindquist made six saves in the clean sheet for Pine Valley/Gowanda (2-12, 2-8).

Franklinville fell to 0-11 overall and 0-10 in the league.

EAGLES COAST TO WIN

SALAMANCA — Ellicottville led 6-0 at halftime en route to a 9-1 East Division victory over Salamanca.

Audrey Hurlburt had a hat trick in the opening 40 minutes while Layla Kerns, Ryah Quinn and Brooke Butler also scored. After the break, Quinn, Jayden Doutt and Addison John found the back of the net for the Eagles (7-6, 7-2).

Alysa Williams had three assists and Aaliyah Winslow had two while Kerns and Butler each had one.

Teaghan Finn and Hurlburt combined for four saves in net for Ellicottville.

The Warriors fell to 7-6 overall and 5-5 in the league.

PORTVILLE ROLLS 6-0

PORTVILLE — Portville scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-0 East Division shutout of Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Grace Gariepy, Olivia Dean and Allison Smith scored in the opening 40 minutes before Teagan Kosinski, Hailey Edwards and Dean scored after halftime for the Panthers (11-2-0, 10-0-0).

Dean had two assists and Meghan Lyle had one.

MacKenzie Harmon made two saves for the clean sheet.

The Timberwolves fell to 5-6-0 overall and 3-6-0 in the league.

CARNES HAS OT WINNER

JAMESTOWN — Kaylyn Carnes scored from Emma Malmstrom-Jouanett in the eighth minute of overtime to send Southwestern past Jamestown 1-0 in Division 1 West play at Strider Field.

Braya Beaver made 12 saves in net for the Trojans (6-7-0, 4-5-0).

GATORS BEAT DUNKIRK

DUNKIRK — Allegany-Limestone beat Dunkirk 6-0 in Division 1 West.

The Marauders fell to 3-9-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the league.

The Gators improved to 7-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the league.
