Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series Returning To Jamestown

The Babe Ruth World Series is returning to Jamestown next summer.

According to a press release from the Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series Committee, the city will be the host for the 13-15 tournament, which will be held Aug. 12-19 at Diethrick Park.

The 2023 World Series will mark the 19th time it has been held in Jamestown since it hosted its inaugural tournament in 1980. Among the players who have played on the field on Falconer Street are former Major Leaguers Richie Sexson, Derek Lilliquist, Ben McDonald, David Howard and Kris Benson.

“It’s sort of a Jamestown and Chautauqua County thing,” host president Russell E. Diethrick Jr. told The Post-Journal in 2021. “When Babe Ruth Baseball looks for a place that is a meaningful experience, they have found that in Jamestown. They have found it year after year after year.”
