Bush Industries Wins ‘Battle’ Volleyball; JBA Captures Skating

Bush Industries won the Battle of the Businesses Large Division volleyball tournament at the Jamestown YMCA while Jamestown Bar Association/City Court took home first place in the new roller skating relay event at the Lakewood YMCA on Tuesday evening.

Bush Industries’ volleyball team of Amy Hook, Blaire Borst, Dan Courtney, Lance Deming, Josh Hicks, Dave Nowicki, Sierra Rounds and Jeff Rupp dominated the lower gym court. The squad finished the night by beating Frewsburg Central School (21-17). Chautauqua County Government finished in third place.

In the roller skating relay competition, JBA’s Jeff Shevlin, Rex Morgan, Kristin Lee Yaw and Amber Payne had the lowest score of 3:27.00 to capture the top points. GA Family Services finished second, followed by Jamestown Macadam, Inc.

Overall, Frewsburg Central School (630) and JBA (475) lead the large and small divisions, respectively,

The YMCA Battle continues this evening with women’s miniature golf at the Pro Putt (behind Dairy Queen) in Warren, Pennsylvania. The Large Divisions tees off at 6 p.m. then the Small Division at 7:30 p.m. Axe throwing will also take place at the Panama Rocks Scenic Park at 6 p.m. (Small Division) and 7:15 p.m. (Large Division).
