Last month, John Anderson wondered if his son, Tyler, might end up in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

As it has turned out, dad was proven right.

Tyler, the left-handed pitcher with the Los Angeles Dodgers, learned Saturday that he had been added to the National League roster for the Mid-Summer Classic, which will be held Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.

Tyler, the grandson of the late Post-Journal reporter Manley Anderson, certainly deserved the honor as he’s turned in quite a season so far. In 17 games, he has posted a 10-1 record with a 2.96 earned run average and 81 strikeouts. He is taking the place of Carlos Rodon of the San Francisco Giants on the NL team.
