Darien Swanson Earns Medalist Honors At Bemus Point GC
BEMUS POINT — Darien Swanson continues to play his best golf of the spring season.
Representing Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman/Panama, the state-tournament-bound senior fired a 1-under par 35 to claim medalist honors by six shots during a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association golf match Wednesday at Bemus Point Golf Course.
In team competition, Maple Grove posted two wins, downing the Thunderbirds (28-27) and knocking off Cassadaga Valley (31-24). Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman/Panama downed the Cougars (34-21).
Evan Steffen and Gavin Rodgers led the Red Dragons (15-4, 10-4) with a 41; and Ace Pierce had the top nine-hole score for the Cougars (1-16, 1-10) with a 45.
The Thunderbirds’ record stands at 5-13, 3-10.

The victory improved the Huskies’ record to 10-6 overall and 9-6 in the division.
Tyler Salvaggo led Jamestown with a 41.
