The Jamestown Tarp Skunks, with less than two months from Opening Day, released their promotional schedule for 2022. The Tarp Skunks, members of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, begin their season at home against the Olean Oilers on Thursday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, the team will host a free tailgate festival, featuring live music by the local band For The People.

“We have put together a promotional schedule that the fans are going to really enjoy,” said Jacob Kindberg, the director of business and sales operations. “I’m excited for the baseball fans and families in our area. For two months this summer they are going to be able to rely on affordable and entertaining nights out at Diethrick Park. We have kept the most popular promotions from last season and added in a few more for 2022.”

The Tarp Skunks, who saw a 107% increase in attendance over Jamestown’s past collegiate summer league teams, are expecting even larger crowds this season with a schedule jam-packed with exciting theme nights and promotions. Back for this season are the popular $2 Nights, featuring pop, hotdogs, and beer for $2 each. Every Monday home game will be a $2 Night, excluding Monday, July 4, which will be the Independence Day Celebration.

On Tuesday, June 14, the Tarp Skunks will host School Kids Day, with a special start time of 11 a.m. The Tarp Skunks are scheduling this game to attract students from local schools to attend the game on a field trip. Schools from Jamestown and Maple Grove School Districts are planning to attend, with tickets still available to any interested schools.

Wednesday, June 29 will be Jamestown Community College Night. Jamestown Community College will be distributing tickets to their students, faculty, staff and alumni for this game and will be holding prize raffles during the game for all fans in attendance.

There will be three fireworks nights in 2022 — Friday, June 24, Sunday, July 3, and Friday, July 22.

All games with fireworks will begin at 7 p.m. June 24 will be Hello Summer Night, a Collaborative Children’s Solutions (CCS) night focused on celebrating the end of the school year and the beginning of summer break.

Fireworks on July 3 are presented by Jamestown Mattress, and will kick off Fourth of July celebrations. July 24 will be Christmas in July Night, another CCS night focused on raising money and toy donations for Toys for Tots.

First pitch for all games on Monday through Saturday has been moved up to 6:30 p.m. this year, with the exception of fireworks nights, School Kids Day, and doubleheaders. Fireworks nights will feature a 7 p.m. first pitch, and doubleheaders will begin at 5 p.m. All Sunday games will begin at 4 p.m.

“In a few weeks, we will have more exciting promotional night news to announce,” Kindberg said. “We are finalizing the details on at least one Community Buyout Night, which will feature free tickets to all fans courtesy of a local business. Be on the lookout for news on our website and social media pages.”

Single game tickets will go on sale on Monday, May 16, starting at $5 each. Season tickets packages are available now at just $99.

With the addition of former New York-Penn League teams Niagara Falls, Batavia, and Auburn, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League featured a league-record 17 teams in 2021. The Tarp Skunks were the Western Division Champions in 2021 and look to repeat that success in 2022. The full promotional schedule can be found at tarpskunks.com/2022-schedule.

Starting at $3.50/week.
