JCC Golf Takes Part In First Competition Of The Season

CORTLAND — In their first competition of the year, the Jamestown Community College golf team took part in the Tompkins Cortland CC Panther Invitational where 39 golfers took to Elm Tree Golf Club on Friday morning.

The Jayhawks, playing on the par 71 course, finished sixth in the seven-team field with a combined score of 375.

Freshman Traden Gray (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) led the way for the young team, finishing in 13th-place with an 83. Returner Josh Brown (Randolph/Randolph) shot a 92, placing him at 20th.

Freshman Noah Adams (Mayville/Chautauqua Lake) and Kyle Smallback (Randolph/Randolph) shot 99 and 101 respectively, good for 31st and 32nd place. The other Jayhawks’ score was turned in by freshman Trevor Harrington (Arcade/Pioneer ), who shot a 116, placing him in 35th place.

The Jayhawks will compete in the Onondaga CC Lazer Invitational today at the Sunset Ridge Golf Club. Tee times are set for 10 a.m.
