EDINBORO, Pa. — This past Sunday, the Cheetah West 17’s volleyball team won a 16 team tournament at Edinboro University.

Cheetah West 17 made it to the gold bracket by going unbeaten in pool play, defeating EPIC Navy, Octane Terrors and Club Ashtabula.

In the quarterfinals, Cheetah West 17 defeated Mahoning Valley Premier 25-12, 25-16 and then in the semifinals they defeated EPIC Warren in close matches 25-23, 28-26.

In the finals, EPIC Red delivered Cheetah West 17 their first loss with a 25-13 win in the first set. Cheetah West 17 was able to win the second set 25-15 then overcome a 5-10 deficit to win the third set and the tournament 15-13.

The team is composed of Chautauqua Lake students and Keara Kincaid is from Westfield.
