EDEN — On Jan. 12, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley beat Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 wrestling showdown that essentially wrapped up the Golden Cougars’ 11th straight league title.
At the Section VI Class C/D Championship on Saturday at Eden High School, the Thunderbirds exacted a bit of revenge.
In a dramatic way.
Ison Shirley and Gavin Segovia earned third-place pins in the final two weights of the day as CL/W/P overcame a late 7.5-point deficit and earn the combined program’s third sectional title.
