Rebels Sweep Danbury

The Rebels (22-17-3) completed the weekend sweep of the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on Saturday with a 5-2 victory in North American Hockey League East Division action.

Jamestown’s newest Rebel, Joshua Burke, picked up where he left off on Friday and scored the first goal of Saturday’s game against his old club. Burke stuffed the stat sheet with two more assists, making his point total 7 in two games for the Rebels.

Jamestown had a 3-0 lead after the first, courtesy of goals from Burke, Ethan Janda and Ryan Waltman. Danbury cashed in on two power play opportunities in the second period to make it 3-2 headed into the final period. The Rebels cashed in on two power plays in the third period with Captain John Lundy scoring his 20th and 21st goals of the season on the man advantage.

Burke and Carter Casper both recorded two assists for the Rebels and Noah Szretter, Mitch Lafay, Trevor Burns and Jak Vaarwerk each had one.

Jamestown is back in action this Friday at Johnstown (23-13-5).
