Rebels Look To Increase Lead On Nordiques

The Jamestown Rebels will look to put more distance between themselves and the Maine Nordiques this upcoming Friday and Saturday.

The Rebels are currently tied in the standings with the Northeast Generals for the final playoff spot in the North American Hockey League’s East Division and are currently eight points ahead of the Nordiques.

Coming off a 3-2 win against the Johnstown Tomahawks this past Sunday, the Rebels understand that the month of January will be a great opportunity to move up the standings as nine of their 11 games will be on home ice.

Captain John Lundy is currently tied for the Rebels’ lead in scoring with 23 points and leads the team in goals with 13. Jak Vaarwerk leads the team in assists with 18 and is tied with Lundy at 23 points. Nolan Suggs has nine wins in net with one shutout, a 2.77 goals against average and a .907 save percentage while Jon Howe has five wins, one shutout, a 2.55 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

The action continues this Friday 7:05 p.m. at Northwest Arena. Friday’s game is “Guaranteed Win Night.” If the Rebels lose on Friday, fans who attended the game can use their tickets to get a free ticket for Saturday night’s tilt.
