Jaylen Butera scored 12 points and Jaral Farmer added 10 to lead a balanced attack as the Red Raiders breezed to a 67-41 victory over Williamsville North.

Jamestown, ranked 20th in this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association poll, improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the division. The Spartans, meanwhile, fell to 5-6 and 2-4.

“I was pleased with our effort level,” Red Raiders coach Ben Drake said. “We were very well balanced, and we did a nice job of sharing the ball and making the extra pass tonight.”

Eleven different players scored in a game that saw Jamestown lead 41-13 at halftime.

“Williamsville North is a little bit down this year, but I thought we played hard right from the beginning,” Drake said. “We turned them over quite a bit in the first half with our pressure.”

In addition to his scoring, Farmer grabbed nine rebounds and blocked two shots; Trey Drake collected 9 points and six boards; Sean Paige added 8 points and seven rebounds; and Bishop Butts and Andre Maple blocked three shots apiece.

Jackson Bastible led the Spartans with 15 points and Brendan Morse added 10.

The Red Raiders return to action Friday when they travel to Clarence (5-3, 3-2). Jamestown also has a nonleague game at 7 p.m. Saturday against Park at Jamestown Community College.
