Harden, Beehler Lead Jayhawks To Road Win
BATAVIA — The Jamestown Community College women’s basketball team is on a roll.
Sparked by 26 points by D’Auzhanay Harden and 23 from Jessica Beehler, the Jayhawks breezed to an 85-42 NJCAA Region 3 Division II victory over Genesee CC on Friday.
Hannah Hicks added 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Kymi Nance chipped in 10 points for the winners, who improve to 6-4 on the season.
The Jayhawks led 43-23 at halftime and 63-34 after three quarters. As a team, they shot 53% from the floor (38 of 72). Harden connected on 12 of 16 attempts and Hicks was 8 of 12.
Jillian Curtis had 14 points and Sherman Central School graduate Mackenzie Gratto added 10 points and 13 rebounds for Genesee CC (2-3). Teammate Logan Shaulis hauled in 15 boards.
Jamestown CC returns to action at 1 p.m. Sunday when it entertains WVU Potomac State College.

JAYHAWKS FALL
BATAVIA — Jalen Willis scored 23 points to lead four players in double figures as Genesee Community College upended Jamestown CC 85-72 in an NJCAA Region 3 Division II game.
Kevin Goode had 12 points, Legacy Wallace 11 and Kevin Caminero 10 for the winners (3-3).
Clinique Jackson paced the Jayhawks (1-8) with 21 points and Gonzalo Luque had 17 points and nine rebounds, but they fell behind 44-30 at halftime and couldn’t recover.
Genesee CC improves to 3-3 on the season.
The Jayhawks will be back in action at 3 p.m. Sunday when they entertain WVU Potomac State College.
