Curling Leagues
Northwest Arena wrapped up Week 4 of its Backyard Curling Leagues sponsored by Dot’s Gift Boutique on Friday.
5:45 MONDAY LEAGUE
Fruit of the Brooms, coming off their tournament win last weekend, kept to their winning ways as they defeated Curling Me Softly 30-28 and Sonic Sliders 45-29 behind strong play from Steve Cramer.
Pepsi Rockstar-Z stayed at the top of the division, going 2-0 on the week as they defeated The Rockies 48-30 and co-workers Pepsi Rizer-Z 27-10 as Fred Pellerito and Evan Hanna were the top curlers.
Scuba Crew also captured two victories over Gemstones 44-29 and Shoeless Joe’s Pub 40-34 with Cathy Johnner being their leading curler.
Legion of Broom knocked off league-leading TRCurlers 34-27 behind Cecil Miller’s outstanding play.
Curling Me Softly defeated The Rockies 44-25 as Mike Wilson and Julie Fye led the way.
The Gemstones bounced back in their second game by defeating Curls Night Out 40-20 as Kim Williams was their top scorer.
Curls Night Out started out their night with an exciting one-point win over the Sonic Sliders 35-34 behind the strong play of Kim Barber.
Shoeless Joe’s Pub defeated the Legion of Broom 38-36 as Chad Waddington was stellar.
TRCurlers started out their night with a convincing 41-25 win over the Pepsi Rizer-Z behind strong play from Kevin Anderson.
6:45 MONDAY LEAGUE
TOMTE’ Curlers remained undefeated, going 2-0 this week with wins over Hack Attack 34-22 and War Vets 24-23 with Dan Tedquist outstanding play.
Also going 2-0 were the Cold Stone Curlers as Craig Merchant and super-sub Joe Dominik led the way over Pickle Pushers 32-16 and Haggy’s Booze Haggz 51-29.
Rolling Stones secured two wins over Curl Jam 29-18 and Pickle Pushers 19-10 with strong play from Sandy Stimson and Toby Disbro.
Curl Jam recorded a win over Glass House Gang 24-20 on Jeff Seely’s exciting final stone to capture the win.
Haggy’s Booze Haggz defeated War Vets 30-26 as Emily Bosket was the most outstanding curler.
Hack Attack defeated previously undefeated Short & Curly 25-24 as Marty Richau slid the deciding stone on the stone of the game, to secure the one-point victory.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
We’ve Got the Stones took over the top spot with two convincing wins over Girls with Stones 43-31 and Curl Jam 37-18 behind strong play from Kathy Rossey.
Also going 2-0 on the night was Hindy’s Hurlers to climb to the top of the division as they also bested Curl Jam 34-30 and Rand Machine 36-17 with a star performance from Liz Hinderleider.
Golfers on Ice knocked Globo Curling Purple Cobra with a 44-40 victory as Charlie Beach was their top curler.
The Purple Cobras bounced back with a 42-36 win over Girls with Stones with strong play from Matt Woodard.
Rand Machine defeated Stone Cold Maidens 51-35 with Chris Wall being the first star.
Stone Cold Maidens defeated Golfer on Ice 41-39 with Julie Korpan being their top curler.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
12 oz. Curlers remained undefeated with wins over The Brush Offs 22-21 and Curling Me Softly 48-26 with Kevin Gastol and Ryan Dalaba being their top curlers.
The Icemen went 2-0 on the week as they defeated Curls Gone Wild 44-29 and Got Stones 30-23 with strong play from Seth Boardman and Randy Kent.
Lewis & Lewis I improved their record with wins over Jamestown Hammers 36-27 and Curling Me Softly 19-18 as Glenn Wilcox and Cindy Panebianco were outstanding.
Jason Brill led Sky Rocketeers to two victories over Michael P’s 42-27 and Lewis & Lewis II 33-24.
Going 1-1 on the night and defeating Curls Gone Wild was the Jamestown Hammers with Kelly Carlson being the top curler.
Michael P’s 34-13 victory over Livengood/Galbato’s was spearheaded by the outstanding play of Pat Langworthy.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Bauer’s Blockers took over the top spot in the standings this week going 2-0 by defeating Dot’s Gift Boutique 27-23 and Barney’s Hoof Trimmers 26-22 as the team was carried by Susan Bauer.
Peterson’s Candies/Neil Propane defeated Slippery Streets 31-12 and Dot’s Gift Boutique 37-27 with Jeremy Gruber showing his curling prowess.
Sweeping Beauties defeated The Home Despots 27-23 and CHQ HYDRO 42-33 thanks to Lynda Degoiler and Mindy Lawson-Crabtree’s outstanding play.
CHQ HYDRO continued to show improvement with a 36-33 victory over Haggy’s Jr. Curling Crew behind strong play from Will Lucas and Nicole Szymczak.
Drawing a Blank defeated Barney’s Hoof Trimmer’s 19-18 on Joe Rollman’s deciding final stone.
4:30 RYAN DEPPAS/LEGEND GROUP FRIDAY LEAGUE
Sweeping Beauties brought home two wins with victories over The Chestnuts 34-27 and Bottom Up Palinting 43-38 as they were led by Chuck and Kathy Ludwig.
The Seminar Group remained on top of the division, remaining undefeated with their two wins over Cold Beer Here 33-31 and The Chestnuts 42-31 as Bryan Olson and Peter Stark were their top curlers.
Haggy’s 4 Below defeated Gus’s Curlers 52-29 and Bottom Up Painting 20-16 behind strong play from Craig Darling and Drew Carlson.
Bottom Up Painting got themselves in to the win column by defeating Always Late, But Never Nervous 40-38 behind stellar play from Phil Mead.
The Sliders defeated Premier Listings 37-23 as Sandy Calesina showed her outstanding stick work.
Robinson Law Office outlasted Tracey’s Dog 42-39 as Judy Robinson led the charge.
