Swanson Brothers Lead 12-Goal Outburst For Westfield/Brocton

WESTFIELD — Carson Swanson netted a hat trick to lead eight players who scored for Westfield/Brocton in a 12-0 shutout of Silver Creek/Forestville in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division boys soccer Tuesday.

Cole Holland and Mihir Patel each added two goals while Darien Swanson, Ethan Weingart, Joshua Barresi, Lucas Huyck and Aiden Covert each added single goals for the Wolverines (2-1-1, 1-0-0).

Darien Swanson also had six assists while Barresi, Carson Swanson, Covert and Holland had single assists.

Silver Creek/Forestville fell to 0-3-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the league.

TEIJEIRA LEADS EAGLES

NORTH COLLINS — Carson Teijeira had a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in the 68th minute as North Collins edged Chautauqua Lake 3-2 in the Central Division.

Derek Ebersole had two assists and Ryan Stefan had one for the Eagles (1-0-0, 1-0-0).

Elias Quintero and Jalen Parkhurst each scored a goal from Carson D’Anthony for the Thunderbirds (1-2-0, 0-1-0).

PINE VALLEY/GOWANDA

RALLIES

RANDOLPH — Pine Valley/Gowanda trailed 2-1, but scored the final two goals of the game to rally past Randolph 3-2 in the East Division.

Wayne Libby scored from Ryan Waterman in the second minute to give Pine Valley/Gowanda a 1-0 lead, but Drew Hind and Griffin Nelson answered for the Cardinals (1-2-0, 0-1-0) with Cooper Freeman and Brendan Good picking up assists.

Waterman scored the equalizer in the 58th minute from Libby before Darwin Westlund scored the eventual game-winning goal from Noah Frontuto in the 62nd minute for the Panthers (1-1-0, 1-0-0).

ELLICOTTVILLE COASTS

ELLICOTTVILLE — Sam Edwards had four goals and an assist as Ellicottville beat Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 6-1 in the East Division.

Aaron LoGuidice and William Benatovich also scored for the Eagles (1-2-1, 1-0-0) with Caedon Wyatt picking up an assist.

Jordan Ambuske scored from Brian Funke for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-4-0, 0-1-0).

TROJANS DOWN DUNKIRK

Southwestern rolled to a 12-0 West Division victory over Dunkirk despite an heroic effort in goal by Ashton Witkowski.

The senior made 19 saves on the Trojans’ Senior Night at the Sirianni Athletic Complex.

The Marauders, who weren’t sure whether they would have a team less than a week ago, have “shown a lot of poise,” according to Coach Shawn Taylor.

“They came away very proud of themselves, they didn’t quit and they’re excited with their next opportunity when they host Pine Valley.”

The time of that game Saturday is to be determined.

DRAGONS BLANK BEARS

Two goals 19 seconds apart were enough to propel Maple Grove to a 2-0 Central Division victory over Frewsburg.

Eli Moore opened the scoring about the 22-minute mark on an assist from Jonah Foley. Nineteen seconds later, Foley found the back of the net on an assist from Moore.

Keeper Andrew Auer made five saves for the Red Dragons (3-0, 2-1).

Connor Murray played well in goal for the Bears (2-3, 0-1).
