SW Boys Post Soccer Win Over F/CV
Behind Nolan Froah’s goal at the 37-minute mark, Southwestern edged Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, 2-1, in a Division 1 West boys soccer game Saturday.
Teammate McKay Young opened the scoring at the 4:48 mark, and that was just enough to hold off the Golden Cougars (3-3, 1-1).
Connor Young and McKay Young added assists for the winners (5-2, 1-1).
Alex Reynolds tallied the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s goal at 14 minutes, assisted by Alex Hudson.
DRAGONS FALL
TO GATORS
ALLEGANY — Eric Spring’s hat trick led unbeaten Allegany-Limestone to a 3-0 victory over Maple Grove in a nonleague game.
Anthony DeCapus added an assist for the winners (6-0).
The Red Dragons fell to 4-1.

FREDONIA PREVAILS
FREDONIA — Ava Rukavina and Annie Gondek each collected a pair of goals to help Fredonia down Southwestern, 4-2, in a Division 1 West game.
Assists for the winners (4-0, 4-0) belonged Lila Cameron with two and Emma Willebrandt and Emily Timmerman with one apiece.
Kinnan Finnegan had five saves for the Hillbillies in net.
The Trojans fell to 1-3-1 and 0-1-1.
T’WOLVES WIN
CATTARAUGUS — Madison Spink tallied the lone goal of the game, assisted by Clara Thompson, to spark Cattaraugus-Little Valley to a 1-0 victory over Salamanca in an East Division game.
The win improves the Timberwolves’ record to 2-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the division.
The Warriors fell to 1-5 and 0-4.

VICTORIOUS
FALCONER — Kayla Lynn scored a pair of goals and added an assist to spark Falconer/Cassadaga Valley to a 3-1 nonleague victory over Maple Grove.
Eliza Andersen added the other goal for the winners (2-2-1) while Tess Spangenburg was credited with a pair of assists in support of keeper Grace Lundmark, who made three saves.
Alexis Hall tallied the lone goal for the Red Dragons (0-3-1), assisted by Madilyn Seastrum. Kasie Craig was between the pipes and made 10 saves.
NORTH COLLINS
TIES EDEN
Lina Young found the back of the net as North Collins (5-1-1) tied Eden, 1-1, in a nonleague game.
Jessica Zittel had the goal for Eden (3-3), assisted by Alexis Ecker.
The goalies were Michaela Rice for North Collins (nine saves) and Haley Pompeo for Eden (nine saves).
