Rukavina Nets Hat Trick In Fredonia Win

FREDONIA — Sophomore Ava Rukavina netted a hat trick as Fredonia topped Olean 3-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer action Friday.

Rukavina scored her first goal from Emma Patterson in the 15th minute and followed with her second tally from Annie Gondek in the 24th minute.

Addie Peer scored from Olivia Kratts in the first half for the Huskies.

After halftime, Rukavina completed her hat trick from Gondek in the 64th minute.

Kinnan Finnegan made nine saves in net for the Hillbillies (3-0-0, 1-0-0) and Emma Edwards made eight saves for Olean (2-1-1, 0-1-1).

CARDINALS PULL AWAY

RANDOLPH — Randolph broke a 2-2 halftime deadlock with five second-half goals to beat Salamanca 7-2 in East Division action.

Kyra Pence tallied a hat trick for the Cardinals (1-3-1, 1-0-0) with a first-half goal from Willow Rader followed by late second-half goals from Mattie Evans-Brown and Samantha English. Evans-Brown also had two goals, first from Aubrey Hogan and the second unassisted. Hogan also scored a goal as did Caliana Wheeler for the winners. Zoey Dickerson added two assists.

Grace Hodara scoerd from Mariah Downey in the 10th minute and Downey scored unassisted for the Warriors (1-3-0, 0-2-0).

Makenzie Oakes made 20 saves for Salamanca and Kendell O’Neill made one save for Randolph.

YOUNG LEADS EAGLES

NORTH COLLINS — Lina Young scored a pair of unassisted goals in the second half as North Collins shut out Chautauqua Lake 2-0 in the Central Division.

Hailey Jasinski made 10 saves in the shutout for the Eagles (4-0-0, 1-0-0) while Lucille Gates made 13 saves for the Thunderbirds (1-1-1, 0-1-0).

GATORS BLANK DUNKIRK

ALLEGANY — Addie Fisher, Gracie Amore and Olivia Paterniti each had two goals as Allegany-Limestone blanked Dunkirk 9-0 in the West Division.

Cait Kellogg, Payton Fortuna and Janie Missel also scored for the Gators (1-0-0, 1-0-0). Assists for the winners went to: Fortuna (4), Fisher (2), Paterniti and Kellogg.

Summer Clark made 14 saves for the Marauders (2-1-0, 0-1-0) and Kelsey Riordan made three for Allegany-Limestone.

HULTBERG SCORES TWICE

Alexandra Hultberg scored twice to lead Frewsburg to a 3-0 shutout of Maple Grove in the Central Division.

Nora Edwards opened the scoring from Kendal Sohl in the ninth minute before Hultberg scored in the 38th minute from Taytum Jimerson for the Bears (2-2-0, 1-0-0).

Hultberg capped the scoring in the 62nd minute.

Frewsburg’s defense, led by Peyton Yost, Reagan Chitester, Jacey Cappa and Rachel Kehrli, held the Red Dragons (0-2-0, 0-1-0) to no shots on goal. Kasie Craig made 18 saves in net for Maple Grove.
