North Collins Remains Undefeated

ELLICOTTVILLE — Michaela Rice had 15 kills and two aces while her sister Mckenna Rice had nine kills and two aces as North Collins beat Ellicottville 25-13, 25-14, 25-27, 25-17 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division girls volleyball Friday.

Mackenzie Jaworski had five kills, two aces and two blocks while Cate Ayers had 22 assists for North Collins (6-0, 6-0).

Allison Rowland had 12 kills, 12 digs and three aces; Natalee Leeper had 12 assists, three kills and a block; and Dalayla Alexander had 19 digs for Ellicottville (3-4, 3-2).

COUGARS SWEEP BLACK KNIGHTS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Cassadaga Valley swept Silver Creek in three sets of nonleague volleyball on Friday, 25-8, 25-23, 25-16.

The Cougars were led by Shyanne Carlstrom with 10 kills, four digs and two aces; Allison Wakelee with 19 assists and three aces; and Madison Ring with four aces, three kills and two blocks.

The Black Knights were led by Payton Brennan with two aces, Tory Cook with two aces and a dig and Bri McEwen with an ace and a kill.

The Cougars improved to 8-2 overall while the Black Knights are now 0-9 overall.

FALCONER SWEEPS CARDS

RANDOLPH — Emily Melquist had 12 kills, 10 digs and two aces while Ava Fenton added 11 assists and nine digs as Falconer swept Randolph 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 in nonleague action.

Ashton Beckerink had eight digs and two aces while Amaya McCarthy added four kills, two blocks, five digs and three aces for the Golden Falcons (5-3, 3-3 CCAA D1 West).

Payton Morrison led the Cardinals (6-3, 4-2 CCAA East Division) with eight aces, five blocks and four kills; Eve Adams had four kills, two aces and seven digs; Avery Morrison had 10 digs; and Mya Abrams chipped in 14 assists and three aces.

FALCONER TOPS OLEAN

FALCONER — Falconer defeated Olean 3-1 in Division 1 West play Thursday by the scores 25-20, 26-28, 25-22, 25-19.

The Golden Falcons were led by Ava Fenton’s 23 assists, 25 digs, five aces and four kills; Emily Melquist’s 19 kills, 24 digs and two aces; Hannah Melquist’s seven assists, five digs and two aces; Amaya McCarthy’s six kills, six digs; and Ashton Beckerink 20 digs.

The Huskies were led by Leah Williams’ 12 kills, three blocks and five digs; Adele Dwaileebe’s 11 kills, eight digs and one block; Makenna Pancio’s 24 digs and two assists; and Logan Baer’s 28 assists, three aces, three kills and 14 digs.

PORTVILLE SWEEPS SOUTHWESTERN

Portville swept Southwestern 3-0 in Division 1 West play Thursday by the scores 25-12, 25-16, 25-12.

Southwestern’s effort was led by Anna Rauh’s two aces, one block, eight kills, two assists and nine digs; Katie Lowe’s four blocks, five kills, one assist and one dig; Lauren Cotter’s four kills and 13 digs; and Arrington Restivo’s one kill, nine assists and four digs.

Portville saw strong outings from Olivia Cook with 12 kills and 10 digs; Tori Unverdorben with 11 kills and 21 digs; Lillian Bentley and Ava Haynes, both with seven kills; and Kylie Blessing with 32 assists.

Southwestern is now 6-2 overall and 4-2 in division play while Portville remains undefeated at 6-0.
