SILVER CREEK — A pair of first-half goals jump-started Falconer/Cassadaga Valley to a 5-0 shutout of Silver Creek/Forestville in nonleague boys soccer action Friday.

Max Comstock scored from Jacob Ansell and Dylan Ansell scored unassisted in the opening 40 minutes for the Golden Cougars (2-1-0).

After halftime, Ethyn Gilbert scored from Haydn Myers before Adam Dossey assisted on goals from Alex Reynolds and Myers.

The Black Knights fell to 0-2-0 overall.

BEARS STORMER SHINES

SOUTH DAYTON — Frewsburg scored three second-half goals to beat Pine Valley/Gowanda 3-0 in nonleague play.

Landon Stormer scored from Lucas Eckman before assisting on goals from Zack Carr and Trent Bjork for the Bears (2-2-0).

The Panthers fell to 0-1-0 overall.

RED DRAGONS DOWN TROJANS

Two first-half goals stood up and the defense did the rest as Maple Grove downed Southwestern in a nonleague game.

Bennie Brown scored off a corner kick two minutes in, followed 11 minutes later by Alex MacCallum, who found the back of the net on a free kick.

That was enough offense for the Red Dragons (2-0), who relied on the backline play of Paxton Faulk, Luis Gradewald, Sam Eimiller and goaltender Andrew Auer to keep Southwestern at bay. Auer made two saves, including one that appeared destined for the bottom right corner of the net, but was deflected away.

Jonah Gesing was in goal for the Trojans (3-1).
