Blasdell Claims SHCC Club Title
BUSTI — Mark Blasdell claimed the overall South Hills Country Club club championship, firing a two-day scratch total of 150, fending off P.J. Gronquist and Steve Anderson in a three-hole playoff.
All three men, playing out of the Blue First Flight, finished regulation at 150. Blasdell’s rounds were 72-78, Gronquist’s 76-74, and Anderson’s 76-74. Ultimately, Blasdell won the title in sudden death with a par on No. 3.
Other flight winners were Bob Paterniti, Blue Second Flight, 80-77-157; Vern Palmer, White Third Flight, 67-73-140; Bruce Brightman, White Fourth Flight, 67-78-145; and Jeff Ford, White Fifth Flight, 77-72-149.
The first two flights were scratch scores from the blue tees, while flights three through five were net scores.
The overall ladies club champion was Alex Sullivan with a net 72-71-143, five shots better than second-place Mary Jo Ford, who finished with a 72-76-148.
