Jackals Rout Tri-State By 69

ERIE, Pa. — The Jamestown Jackals attempted 106 shots in Friday’s game against Tri-State in action from The Basketball League.

They made 60, including 27 from beyond the arc

That’s a formula for success virtually 100% of the time.

Bernard Edwards poured in 25 points, one of five Jackals to score better than 20, to lead the Jackals to a resounding 155-86 victory over Tri-State at the Boys & Girls Club of Erie. The win, its seventh in a row, raised Jamestown’s record to 13-3 in what has been a dominant run in recent weeks.

And the Jackals didn’t even take it easy on two of their own.

While Bernard Edwards (7 of 11 from beyond the arc), Nobles Christian (23), Four McGlynn (22), Dane Miller (22) and Freddie Mcswain Jr. (22) led the way offensively for Jamestown, the Admirals (4-10) shot only 38 percent from the floor and had to call on the services of two Jamestown natives — Maceo Wofford and Joe Spencer III — to make their season debuts.

In just under 15 minutes of action, Wofford scored 9 points, and had 3 assists and two rebounds; and Spencer, playing a little more than 21 minutes, added 5 points and one board in a game that the Jackals led, 74-40, at intermission. After the break, Jamestown didn’t take its foot off the gas, outscoring the Admirals, 81-46.

Miller turned in a fine all-around game for the Jackals, finishing with 12 rebounds and 12 assists to finish with a triple-double. Eric Mack grabbed 10 boards.

Eugene Campbell led Tri-State with 20 points, Ahmad Gilbert had 19, and Joe Jones and A’Darius Porter both had 10.

Jamestown will be back in action today when it travels to Syracuse for a game at Bishop Grimes Junior/Senior High School. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
