Jackals Sweep Pair Of TBL Games In Erie This Weekend

ERIE — The Jamestown Jackals swept a pair of games in The Basketball League at the Boys & Girls Club of Erie this weekend.

On Friday, the Jackals raced out to a huge early lead and held on for a 136-131 victory over Syracuse.

Eight players scored in double figures for the Jackals, led by Dane Miller who finished with 21 points. Jon Lee added 20 Nobles recorded19, Bernard Edwards had 18, Four McGlynn collected 12, Glenroy Carr Jr. had 11, and Daniel Mulamba and Rick Curry each had 10.

Jamestown (8-3) shot 55 percent from the floor (46 of 84), grabbed 52 rebounds and had 22 assists.

The Stallions were paced by Michael Henry with 32 points, Grahson Burrell had 28, Johnathen Ivy added 17, and Jordan Robertson and Jimmy Gray III both had 15.

The Jackals appeared to put the game away early as their lead stood at 43-17 after the first quarter and 75-46 at halftime, but Syracuse made it mildly interesting late when it poured in 85 points in the second half.

On Sunday, Nobles had 31 points and 11 assists as Jamestown took the lead late in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 134-116 defeat of the Tri-State Admirals.

The Jackals scored 34 points off 24 Tri-State turnovers and outscored the Admirals 65-17 off the bench. A large part of that was Nobles, who shot 12 of 20 from the field and picked up six steals as Jamestown was a plus-26 with him on the floor.

Lee had 21 points; Edwards chipped in 17 points and six rebounds; Mulamba had 11 points and nine rebounds; and McGlynn also had 11 points for Jamestown.

Tri-State’s Malik Thomas led all scorers with 37 points to go along with 15 rebounds while Ken Woodard had 23 points.
