DUNKIRK — Joey Pillittieri recorded his 100th career victory to highlight Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s 78-0 wrestling victory over Dunkirk on Wednesday.

Pillittieri pinned Michael Hanlon at 3:46 in the 138-pound match, one of six falls for the Golden Cougars. Also recording pins were Brodie Little (160), Hunter Caldwell (172), Kyle Keefe (189), Brock Johnson (215) and Collin Beichner (285).

The Golden Cougars also took advantage of seven forfeits.

PORTVILLE — Mason Kraft’s victory at 126 pounds secured a 19-16 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 wrestling victory for Maple Grove over Portville on Wednesday evening.

The Panthers led 16-15 entering the final weight class of the evening before Kraft earned a 12-2 major decision.

Luke Tomlinson (138 pounds) and Zach Padd (215 pounds) had pins while Cory Cooper earned a 6-5 decision for the Red Dragons.

“Cory was tied 5-5 going into the last period,” Maple Grove coach Terry Norris said, “and picked up an escape late.”
