Allens Shine In SW’s Track & Field Victory

Southwestern was a 112-27 winner over Frewsburg in girls track and field action.

Kayla Allen took home the 400-meter hurdles (1:13.5), high jump (4-2) and the 100-meter hurdles (17.9) for the Trojans

Cassidy Allen won the 100 meters in 12.3 seconds, 200 meters in 26.1 seconds, triple jump in 35 feet, 5 inches and the pole vault with a leap of 12 feet.

Southwestern also claimed the boys match. Miracle Berakah took home the 100 meters in 11.4 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.5 seconds.

Vance Alvarez was a triple winner for the Trojans, claiming the long jump (17-11), triple jump (38-10) and the high jump (5-4).

RAIDERS FALL TO SPARTANS

BUFFALO — The Jamestown Boys track and field team traveled to Williamsville North for their first outdoor meet in 717 days.

Williamsville North was a 96-41 winner thanks to superiority in the sprints and throws. Drew Carlson and Nathan Hill, both double-winners, led the way for the Red Raiders.

Carlson claimed the 800 meters in 2:08.9 and aided the winning 1,600-meter relay team which finished in 4:00.6.

Hill took home the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.9 and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.1.

Williamsville North won the girls meet, 115-22. Belle Johnson took home the 1,500 meters for the Red Raiders in 5:33, and also claimed third in the 800 meters.

Kaylin Russell won the pole vault for Jamestown with a height of 7 feet 6 inches.

FREDONIA BOYS, GIRLS WIN

FREDONIA — Host Fredonia began its CCAA Division 1 boys track and field season with an 89-47 win over Olean on Tuesday.

Matt Linder took home the discus (96-8), shot (39-9) and the long jump (18-10.75) for the Hillbillies while Ladrieth Velez-Olmo claimed the 100 meters (11.8) and the 800 meters (2:28).

Oliver Madariaga won the 400-meter hurdles (52.0) and the 200 meters (23.8).

Fredonia claimed the girls meet, 84-40, thanks to a pair of wins by Gianna Gullo.

Gullo claimed the shot (23-7) and the discus (59-1) while Mackenzie Swan won the 100-meter hurdles (20.3) and the 200 meters (28.7) and Abby Roth took the triple jump (30-.25) and the 400 meters (1:16.2).

Sara Thomas claimed the 1,500 meters (5:56.3) and the 3,000 meters (13:13.4) for Olean.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was an 83-53 winner over Maple Grove in boys track and field.

Leading the Golden Falcons was Joey Pillittieri with wins in the pole vault (10-3.5), 800 meters (211.8) and the 1,600 meters.

Sam Eimiller took home the 110-meter hurdles (16.8), 400 meter hurdles (107.6) and the 200 meters (24.1) for the Red Dragons.
