T’Birds Knock Off Westfield For Sixth Volleyball Victory
MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake improved to 6-1 following a 25-11, 25-14, 25-10 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association volleyball victory over Westfield on Tuesday.
Ava Olson led the way with four aces, six digs and 10 assists. Mallory Morrison added five aces and nine assists; Jessica Wiemer four kills; Brynn Engdahl four kills and one ace; and Jenna Waters three kills, two aces and eight digs.
Chautauqua Lake also won the junior varsity match.
PANAMA DOWNS MG
Panama improved to 8-1 following a 25-21, 25-9, 25-13 victory over Maple Grove.
Top performers for the Panthers were Jo Bailey with 13 kills, five blocks and six points; Maddie Johnson with 23 assists, six digs and seven points; and Sarah Harvey with five kills, 10 points and three aces.
Also contributing to the winning effort were Ashlyn Harvey with five kills, three blocks and six points; Mandy Brink with three kills, seven digs and nine points; and Marra Hovey with 10 digs and eight points.
Madi Price paced the Red Dragons with three kills, seven blocks, three digs and five points; and Samantha Snow added three kills, 18 digs and five points.
WARRIORS PREVAIL
SALAMANCA — Behind five aces and six kills from Jaeden Hubbard, Salamanca posted a 25-9, 25-9, 25-16 victory over Forestville.
Makayla Burch added five aces, one kill and four assists; Morgan Maybee had seven aces, two kills and one assist; Karina Crouse contributed five aces and one kill; and Jillian Rea collected four aces, two kills and five assists.
The Warriors improve to 3-5 on the season.
