Panama Remains Unbeaten In League After Sweep
PANAMA — Marra Hovey served out the final two points on her 18th birthday as Panama completed a 25-19, 25-12, 25-15 sweep of Clymer/Sherman in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls volleyball Thursday.
Hovey finished with 12 digs while Maddie Johnson had 27 assists, three digs and two aces for the Panthers (6-1, 6-0). Jo Bailey added eight kills, six blocks and four aces; Ashley Harvey had seven kills, three blocks and six digs; and Sarah Harvey had nine kills.
Amaya Lewczyk led Clymer/Sherman (2-3, 2-3) with five kills, three blocks and three digs; Emma Wiggers had three kills, three blocks, three digs and three aces; and Mikala Einink had three kills, six assists and three aces.
Panama won the jayvee match, 23-25, 25-10, 25-21.
ADAMS PACES CARDS
RANDOLPH — Behind 11 kills, five aces, one block and four digs from Alyssa Adams, Randolph upended Southwestern, 25-14, 25-14, 25-18.
Sydney Hvizdzak added 10 kills; Eve Adams nine kills and one ace; and Ella Conley 27 assists. The Cardinals are now 5-3 on the season.
Megan Cotter paced the Trojans with an ace, a kill, seven assists, two blocks and five digs; Lauren Cotter added four kills, four blocks and four digs; and Madeleine DuBois chipped in three kills and three blocks.
SILVER CREEK WINS FIRST
BROCTON — Yanna Mott had four aces and 14 assists as Silver Creek earned its first victory, 25-8, 25-16, 25-8 over Brocton.
Bri McEwen added three aces and three kills; Stevie Cook had eight digs; and Ryleigh Lawton had six aces for the Black Knights (1-6).
Juli Smith had three kills and three assists while Jalyn Fred had three assists and two aces for the Bulldogs (0-5).
Silver Creek won the jayvee matchup.
